TASTE OF SPANISH REFUND POLICY

Welcome to Taste of Spanish

We believe in treating every member fairly and with kindness. Our goal is for every student to feel excited, supported, and confident when learning Spanish through the Taste of Spanish Academy.

We understand that sometimes things change — and that’s okay. This Refund Policy explains how refunds, cancellations, and cooling-off rights work so that everything feels transparent, simple, and fair.

1. Overview

This Refund Policy outlines how refunds and cancellations are handled for Taste of Spanish Academy memberships and products.

The Online Academy includes live online classes, recordings, downloadable resources, self-paced learning materials, and access to our private online community space.

The In-person Academy includes live, in-person classes, online access to resources, self-paced learning resources, and access to our private online community space.

By joining the Academy or purchasing any product, you agree to this policy and our Terms & Conditions.

All prices include VAT (Value Added Tax) where applicable.

2. Refund Eligibility

We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee for all first-time Online Academy members.

  • Your 30-day period begins on the date you receive your login/access details.

  • Refunds apply to your initial payment only. Subsequent monthly renewals are non-refundable once processed.

  • Refunds are available only to first-time members (not renewals or returning members).

  • Returning members are defined as anyone who has previously held a paid membership under the same name, email address, or payment account.

  • Refund requests must be emailed to [email protected] within this 30-day period.

  • We’ll respond to refund requests within 10 business days and process approved refunds within 10 business days via your original payment method.

To qualify for a refund, we kindly ask that you’ve taken part in the Academy by:

  • Joining at least two live online classes, or

  • Watching at least two full class recordings.

We just ask that you give the Academy a fair try before deciding it’s not for you.

We do not offer refunds for In-person Academy members, either in part or in full.

3. Examples of Refundable and Non-Refundable Situations

3A. For the Online Academy

Refundable:

✅ You’re a first-time member, have joined or watched at least two classes, and apply within 30 days of receiving access.
✅ You’ve made a duplicate payment.

Non-Refundable:
❌ Renewal payments once processed.
❌ Memberships where the refund request is made after 30 days from receiving access.
❌ Members who are removed due to unacceptable behaviour.
❌ Members who leave and later rejoin — they will be charged at the current advertised rate.
❌ Refunds requested for non-participation (e.g. if you didn’t log in, attend, or use the resources).


3B. For the In-person Academy

Refundable:
✅ You’ve made a duplicate payment.

Non-Refundable:
❌ Refund requests made after 30 days from receiving access.
❌ Renewal payments once processed.
❌ Members who are removed due to unacceptable behaviour.
❌ Members who leave and later rejoin — they will be charged at the current advertised rate.
❌ Refunds requested for non-participation (e.g. if you didn’t attend or use the resources).
❌ Deposits taken to reserve your space on a course.


3C. For Physical Products (Textbooks)

In addition to our memberships, we offer physical products such as textbooks.
We want you to be happy with your purchase, so here’s how refunds for these items work:

If your order has not yet been dispatched:
✅ You may cancel your order and receive a full refund. Just email us at [email protected] as soon as possible, ideally before you receive your shipping confirmation.

If your order has already been dispatched:
✅ You can still request a refund, provided that you:

  • Return the textbook to us at your own cost within 14 days of receiving it,

  • Ensure the item is unused and in new condition,

  • Keep it in its original packaging (if applicable), and

  • Confirm that any scratchable online textbook code has not been revealed or used.

Please contact us at [email protected] before returning any product to confirm the correct return address.

Once we receive and inspect the returned item (typically within 5 business days), we’ll confirm your refund by email and process it within 10 business days via your original payment method.

Please note:
❌ We can’t offer refunds for textbooks that are damaged, used, or have an exposed or used online code.
❌ We recommend using a tracked delivery service when returning products, as we can’t take responsibility for items lost in transit.

4. Cancellations

  • You can cancel your membership anytime via your account dashboard.

  • Cancelling stops future payments but does not automatically issue a refund.

  • You’ll retain access to all resources and the private online community space until the end of your paid billing period.

  • To avoid being charged for the next month, please ensure cancellations or auto-renewal removals are made at least 5 working days before your renewal date.

If you decide to rejoin later, you’ll be charged the current price at that time.

If we ever need to cancel the Academy or a programme for any reason, we’ll provide a fair pro-rata refund for any remaining paid period.

We may also cancel your membership with immediate effect if:

  • You fail to pay your membership fees by the due date.

  • You commit a serious breach of our Terms & Conditions.

  • At our discretion, we determine continued participation is not appropriate.

In such cases, no refund will be issued except where required by law.

5. Conduct in the Academy

Our community is built on respect, curiosity, and encouragement. To keep it that way, we ask that all members follow our code of conduct.

Unacceptable behaviour includes, but is not limited to:

  • Disrespectful or offensive comments.

  • Spamming or harassment.

  • Sharing paid content externally.

  • Any actions that disrupt the positive, inclusive spirit of the community.

All materials and discussions within the Academy are private and confidential. Please do not share recordings, resources, or personal comments outside the community.

We reserve the right to remove any member who engages in unacceptable behaviour. In these cases, no refund will be provided.

6. Processing Refunds

  • Refunds are issued via the original payment method only.

  • Please allow 10 business days for funds to appear in your account after approval.

  • You’ll be notified via email when your refund has been processed.

  • Refund amounts are processed in the same currency as the original payment (USD or GBP). Any variations in exchange rates or bank fees are outside our control.

  • Partial refunds may be issued only in rare cases such as duplicate payments or technical errors.

7. Cooling-Off & Digital Access Waiver

Because this is a membership that includes digital content, UK law normally provides a 14-day cooling-off period under the Consumer Contracts Regulations.

By joining the Academy and accessing the online materials, you:

  • Expressly consent to the immediate supply of digital content, and

  • Waive your 14-day cooling-off right for those digital elements once access is provided.

This simply means you can start learning straight away without waiting two weeks — and you’re still protected by our 30-day satisfaction guarantee.

For any in-person elements or physical products (like textbooks), separate cancellation rights may apply as outlined in this policy.

8. Compliance with UK and EU Law

This policy complies with UK consumer law and aligns with EU digital content regulations for international members.

Because members receive instant access to digital materials upon joining, your statutory 14-day “cooling-off” period is replaced by our 30-day satisfaction guarantee for the Online Academy.

If any disagreement arises, we’ll always aim to resolve it quickly and fairly through open communication.
