Effective from 16 October 2025

1. Welcome

Welcome to the Taste of Spanish Academy!

We’re delighted you’re here and can’t wait to support your Spanish language and culture journey. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) explain how your membership works, what you can expect from us, and what we ask from you in return.

By purchasing or using your membership, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully and keep a copy for your records.

If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected] — we’re always happy to help.

2. About Taste of Spanish

2.1 These Terms are between you (the “Member”) and Taste of Spanish, a business registered in England (“we,” “us,” “our”).
2.2 Our website is https://tasteofspanish.com.
2.3 These Terms cannot be varied except by us in writing. By completing your membership purchase, you confirm your acceptance of these Terms, subject to your statutory consumer rights.
2.4 Nothing in these Terms reduces or limits your rights under applicable consumer law (which cannot be contractually waived).

3. Eligibility

3.1 To join the Academy, you must be at least 18 years old.
3.2 For the online elements, you must have a device (computer, tablet, etc.) and sufficient internet speed to access live calls.
3.3 For any in-person group lessons, you must be able to travel to the location, bring writing materials, and have means to access online resources outside class hours.
3.4 The Academy is designed for:

  • learners who want to practise Spanish in real life,

  • motivated people ready to take action (not passive viewing only),

  • those who seek community support and engagement.

It is not for:

  • those expecting instant mastery or guaranteed fluency,

  • people unwilling or unable to dedicate time to learning,

  • learners expecting to be spoon-fed every answer.

4. Membership Overview

4.1 Your membership gives you access to the parts of The Taste of Spanish Academy included in your subscription type, which may include:

  • Weekly face-to-face classes (for in-person membership)

  • Live online classes (via Zoom)

  • Private online community hosted on our site

  • Monthly Spanish recipes and Recipe Library

  • Interactive learning resources

  • Downloadable documents (for personal use)

  • Streaming access to recordings of live sessions

  • Self-paced courses (in the “Courses” area)

  • Monthly cook-alongs

  • Other resources at our discretion

4.2 All materials and content are for personal, non-commercial use only. You may not share, resell, translate, republish, or otherwise distribute them.
4.3 Some live sessions will be recorded, and by participating or having your camera/microphone on, you consent to being recorded for playback within the Academy.
4.4 We reserve the right to change or retire content, resources, or features, with notice, provided such changes do not materially reduce your core membership value.

5. Membership Types, Currency & VAT

5.1 Online Academy: billed in USD.
5.2 In-person Academy: billed in GBP.
5.3 All prices include VAT (where applicable).
5.4 If a member later switches between in-person and online membership types, you agree to accept the appropriate currency and VAT structure.

6.5 We may change the delivery or schedule of content; if doing so significantly, we will notify you so you can decide whether to continue or cancel.

7. Cooling-Off & Digital Access Waiver

  • Because this is a subscription / service contract, UK law normally grants a 14-day cooling-off period (Consumer Contracts Regulations) starting the day after the contract is made. However, for digital content, the Member may consent in advance to immediate access and thereby waive that cooling-off right.

  • In this Agreement, by proceeding with your membership and accessing the Academy, you expressly consent to the immediate supply of digital content and thereby waive your 14-day cooling-off right for the digital elements once access is given.

  • If you prefer to wait until after the 14-day window to begin accessing content, please contact us in writing before using any membership materials.

Welcome to the Taste of Spanish Academy!
We’re delighted you’re here and can’t wait to support your Spanish language and culture journey. These Terms & Conditions explain how your membership works, what you can expect from us, and what we ask from you in return.

By purchasing or using your membership, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully and keep a copy for your records.

If you have any questions at any point, please contact us at [email protected] — we’re happy to help.

1. About Taste of Spanish

These Terms are between you and Taste of Spanish, a business registered in England (“we,” “us,” “our”).

These Terms cannot be varied and in proceeding to purchase the Membership you will be deemed to have accepted these Terms. The Terms set out below apply to the services offered by Taste of Spanish. Please read them carefully as they affect your rights and liabilities under law and set out the Terms under which Taste of Spanish (“we”, “our” or “us”) provide services to you, as purchaser of the Membership. These Terms are subject to any rights you have under consumer law to which we are bound and which cannot be waived by contract.

Our website is https://tasteofspanish.com, where you’ll find information about our services, courses, and community.

2. Eligibility

This membership is suitable for those who are age 18 or above.

For online access you are required to have a computer or laptop as well as quick internet speeds if you are accessing live calls. This will enable live calls to work best for you and others.

For In-person group lessons you will need to have the time and resources needed to get to and attend the lessons which includes transport, a notebook and writing implements. An internet connection and a device to access the internet on outside of lessons is also very helpful.

The Academy is aimed at:

  • people who want or need to learn Spanish in a hands on way.
  • people who want to learn the Spanish language for a real purpose and use it in every day life.
  • action takers who aren’t just going to watch some videos and never implement. We provide all the training and support but you will still need to put the work in.
  • anyone who feels alone in their language learning journey and wants to exchange support and ideas with other learners. If you want to share ideas and collaborate with other learners then this will be perfect for you.
  • people who are looking for a unique approach to learning Spanish so that it sticks in your head more easily.

It is not for:

  • people looking for instant success and to be fluent overnight. That’s not something that ANY academy, tutor or company can offer.
  • anyone who is lacking the time to dedicate to learning the Spanish language. Spanish won’t learn itself, unfortunately. Having said that, the Academy will motivate you to find more time for learning.
  • Spanish learners who want to be spoon fed and told all the answers. We believe that you learn WAY more by working the answers out for yourself but with support along the way.
  • those who want guaranteed results. Only YOU can guarantee your results. We know what we teach works but we can’t guarantee specific results. No one can promise success. We do, however, offer a 100% money back guarantee within 30 days of starting your membership, if you’re not happy. For more information please see our Refund Policy.

3. About Your Membership

Your teacher, Helen Rivers, has a degree in Spanish and a Post Graduate Certificate in Education of Modern Foreign Languages. She also has 20 years experience of teaching Spanish.

ii)               A Private Online Community Space – This is hosted on the Taste of Spanish website and is similar to Facebook but without the annoying adverts. It´s aim is to support you during your learning and to provide a network of individuals at a similar stage in their Spanish learning and who are facing similar challenges. From time to Helen Rivers may post and offer support in the Community but there is no guarantee that posts or messages will be responded to immediately. From time-to-time technology may fail and the recording may be unavailable or of poor visual or sound quality, but we do aim to record all most sessions. For the avoidance of doubt, there will be no refunds available for any missed sessions.

  1. What if I need additional support?

Additional support can be offered to each member in the form of 1:1 support or guidance where there is availability. We are happy to support you as required, please contact us directly, additional charges will apply. Alternatively, post your question in the community where we will endeavour to respond.

  1. What if I am ill during my Membership?

If you are ill or unable to attend a live session for any reason you will be able to watch the recording of that session. If you are ill for an extended period, please let us know and we will support you wherever we can.

  1. Is the Academy suitable for everyone?
